A 31-year-old man wanted in connection to a southwest Florida shooting this spring was found “folded, not so neatly” inside a dryer, officials said.
David Jerome Jackson had been on the lam after the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office reported officials identified him as a suspect in connection to a March 15 shooting in Pensacola.
The coastal city is in the southwestern most tip of the Sunshine state, near the Alabama border, about 55 miles southeast of Mobile, Alabama.
The home where deputies discovered the suspect is in a neighborhood about four miles southwest of downtown Pensacola.
When deputies received a tip about his possible whereabouts, they visited a home in west Pensacola to serve a search warrant, the agency wrote in a news release.

'Folded, not so neatly inside'
Arriving officers enter the home Thursday and, after an extensive search, the release says, deputies visited to the laundry room, where they finally discovered Jackson, "folded, not so neatly inside a remarkably small dryer drum."
Deputies described the look on his face in the release as "a combination of guilt, embarrassment, and warm hosiery."
"He was pulled from the dryer one limb at a time, as he clung to his tumble-ready hideout," the sheriff's office wrote in the post.
Florida man found in dryer had socks, dryer sheets stuck to shirt
Outside the dryer, officials reported, deputies removed three dryer sheets, two mismatched socks, and a crumpled-up tissue "from his surprisingly wrinkled Star Wars shirt."
Jackson was taken into custody and arrested on charges of shooting into a dwelling, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, damage to property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, officials wrote in the release.
Details regarding the shooting Jackson was wanted in connection to were not provided by officials.
