Twenty seasons is an impressive feat for any TV show but "Grey's Anatomy" treating it like standard procedure.
The longest-running primetime medical drama is nearing the end of its 20th season with the finale set for May 30. The ABC staple is known for its nail biting season finales, which range from plane crashes, hospital shootings to the infamous cutting of Denny Duquette's LVAD wire in Season 2.
In the Season 20 finale episode, titled "Burn It Down", the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital are flooded with patients after the Seattle area grapples with several wildfires.
"The doctors juggle overcapacity in the ER, complex surgeries and personal stress," the episode synopsis states.
Season 20 only consists of ten episodes due to the aftermath of last year's actors' and writers' strikes that halted movie and TV productions. Season 4 similarly had its episode count shorted due to the previous Writers Guild of America strike from November 2007 to February 2008.
