All NFL fans can agree that we appreciate prime entertainment during halftime, and the San Francisco 49ers' 2023 K9er’s Corgi Cup did not disappoint.
Twelve Corgis dressed in festive sweaters were divided into two groups of six for two elimination round heats. The two winners of each heat then advanced to the finals, where they had a chance to be crowned champion. The four finalists battled it out, each determined to win at any cost.
In the finals of the K9ers Corgi Cup, a Corgi named Peaches was dressed as a reindeer and although Peaches loves running on the beach and digging holes, was falling behind in the race. In an attempt to stop another fierce finalist, Orbit, Peaches attempted a tackle that unfortunately failed.
Tony, the reigning champion who was described as "faster than a Furrari," stayed focused and his “Let’s Get Lit” sweater was the only thing the other competitors saw as he crossed the finished line to claim the 2023 K9ers Corgi Cup for the second year.
Unfortunately, the 49ers were unable to substitute Toney the Corgi in to give the offense a boost and the Ravens handed San Francisco a 33-19 defeat in Week 16.
